Congratulations Aj Bishop! Class of 2025!

The archery team would like to extend our gratitude to all our sponsors throughout the season. BTC bank held a pulled pork lunch tailgate at our archery tournament on March 1st. They sold 192 dinners and graciously matched that money donating $1,920 to our team. Thank you to Allison Asbury for bringing the check to our team and coordinating this fundraiser. BTC bank does so much to help the students at Smithton R-VI. Our archery team would also like to thank our other sponsors this year. The Harris family (Ray, Leslie and Buzz) baked around 40 dozen cinnamon rolls to sell at our tournaments and donated all the proceeds. Eric and Shyla Criner repair our bows and volunteer many hours helping our archers. Thank you to Patty Wagenkencht, Matt Green, Anderson Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning, Dan Bailey Construction, JRN Construction & More LLC for their cash donations, Tigers United & Admin for their support, Smithton PTO for their time in the concession stand at our tournaments, our alumni archers (Mallory Kroeger, Lance Selvey, Cassidy Huddleston, Madison Lemens) and parents that helped volunteer at our tournaments. Thank you all so much!

Last week, 34 Smithton Tiger archers competed at the 2025 state competition held at Branson Convention Center along with over 4,000 other archers. Each archer competed in bullseye, 3D or both. In order to shoot at state, archers had to get a qualifying score (set by the state) at a tournament during the season. They started practicing in October in order to be ready for the first tournament held in January. The archers competed in 13 tournaments this year, including the two bullseye/3D ones we held at Smithton. During state, 10 archers were able to shoot their personal best score for the season which is a great accomplishment considering how big the tournament is. Although we did not have any qualifying scores for Nationals, the returning archers are already preparing for next year's goal to get to Nationals in Louisville! We want to wish our three senior archers the best of luck in the future and will most certainly miss them on the team!
