Mr. David Bray has been hired as the new superintendent for the Smithton R-VI School District beginning the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Bray is currently the Building Principal at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Jefferson City, Missouri. He has been employed with the Jefferson City Public Schools since 2008. Before arriving in Jefferson City, Mr. Bray worked for the Salisbury R-IV School District and the Marshall Public Schools.
Smithton R-VI School District is looking forward to Mr. Bray continuing the excellence established by the district and welcomes him into this important leadership position. He was selected from a strong list of candidates and he was deemed to be the best fit for the Smithton R-VI School District.
Mr. Bray is anxious to get started in the position and looks forward to working in the community with the board of education, administrators, staff, and students. His wife Jennifer and their four children are also very excited to join the Smithton R-VI community.
The Smithton R-VI School District’s search for a superintendent was led by the Missouri Association of Rural Education. The Smithton R-VI School District will hold a reception for the new superintendent at a later date so members of the community can meet Mr. Bray. He begins formal employment on July 1, 2017.
